UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs Benavidez 2 Predictions

This has been a big week for the company known as the Ultimate Fighting Championship, as 2 of the 3 cards of opening week at Fight Island have successfully passed us by. A major statement was made by Calvin Kattar this past Wednesday as he won a hard fought battle against Dan Ige, and now tonight the stakes of been raised with the vacant 125lbs on the line . Let's jump in to some predictions!
Joseph Benavidez vs Deiveson Figueiredo
Well, he did it, Figueiredo made weight and now the belt will actually be wrapped around his waist IF he wins. What a weird feeling that last victory must brought on. Nonetheless, Benavidez had plenty of excuses to toss around after the loss last time that he just won't have here, and I personally think the pressure lies on his shoulders.
I'd like to believe that tonight is the night where Benavidez finally becomes the bride and is no longer the bridesmaid but I just don't think it's gonna happen based on how their last fight went, which is sad because at the age of 35 this is probably his last shot. But, Figueiredo is too big, has too much firepower and is just a bad matchup for old man Joseph.
Prediction: Deiveson Figueiredo, 3rd RD TKO
Kelvin Gastelum vs Jack Hermansson
This right here is a make or break fight for Kelvin if he wants to stay at the top of the middleweight division. A loss to Till is one thing, but a loss to Hermansson is another, and a third straight loss would make it an extremely difficult road back to the title. However, Hermansson is one of those long and extremely durable fighters that Gastelum doesn't handle all that well, so this will be a tight race.
I'm not counting out "The Joker" by any means, but once a fighter has come so close to a title like Gastelum has, they usually have that added desperation to get themselves back in that position. Based on past performances both fighters have given against similar guys, I'll lean towards the guy I know will grind it out to the very last second of the fight.
Prediction: Kelvin Gastelum, Decision
Marc Diakiese vs Rafael Fiziev
This fight will no doubt be contested on the feet, and after seeing the way Diakiese rebounded in 2019 makes me believe that he is a much more mature fighter, and with maturity comes control. I think if he brings that and his physical gifts to this fight, it will make all the difference.
Prediction: Marc Diakiese, Decision
Luana Carolina vs Ariane Lipiski
I'm a simple man, when your nickname is "Dread" and you have dreads I can't help but cheer for you. Even if that nickname isn't really talking about her hair.
Prediction: Luana Carolina, Decision
Askar Askarov vs Alexndre Pantoja
This is an intriguing fight in many ways. Askarov as a relative newcomer to the UFC has already given the Flyweight division plenty of notice that he is legit, however I think Pantoja is just a notch above. Both guys have wins over the divisions mainstays, but Pantoja has been a little more convincing in those fights.
Prediction: Alexandre Pantoja, Decision
