UFC Vegas 12: Hall vs Silva Predictions

Source: Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC

There was a moment in time when Anderson Silva was must-see tv, and by-and-large most people still look forward to watching The Spider fight for nostalgia's sake. Normally I'd be very cynical towards a fight like this, but after watching Khabib hang up the gloves last weekend I'm going to try and appreciate Silva one last it time. I'm not expecting much, but I'm not going to take it for granted either.

Uriah Hall vs Anderson Silva

The old me would say this fight isn't a main event, and it's sad to see what Silva's once perfect legacy has turned into the past decade. However, the new me has a little more tolerance for this fight, but if you erase the names and just look at each fighters styles this tilt has all the makings to be a snoozer.

Silva obviously doesn't have the same bite he once did, but he looks like he's in great shape and that gives me a little more reassurance that he can pull one last rabbit out of the hat. Honestly, I think this is Hall's fight to lose. He's definitely the more explosive of the two, but Hall has never really been a mental warrior and I think that might be his downfall in this one.

Prediction: I can't believe I'm saying this but, Anderson Silva, Decision

Andre Fili vs Bryce Mitchell

I'm a huge fan of Andre Fili, he's always had an entertaining style and is always a tough fight. However, Thug Nasty looked so impressive against Charles Rosa, like really impressive. If Fili can somehow keep this fight standing then I really like his odds but that's a big "if". I see Mitchell going to his bread and butter making it long night for FIli.

You can never count Touchy out, and this is a big step up for Mitchell, but I think the thing he is really good at (wrestling) will take him a long way in this 145 division.

Prediction: Bryce Mitchell, Decision

Kevin Holland vs. Charlie Ontiveros

Despite his performance against Darren Stewart, I love Kevin Holland's game and on paper he is a heavy favourite for a good reason. I have very little confidence this is going to be a competitive fight.

Prediction: Kevin Holland, 2nd RD TKO

Maurice Greene vs Greg Hardy

Hardy initially missed weight...as a heavyweight, tough look. Slugfest (and not in a good way) through and through, don't expect too much from this one. I'm actually very disappointed the Boser - Greene fight never materialized.

Prediction: Greg Hardy, 1st RD TKO

Bobby Green vs Thiago Moises

My boy! Bobby Green has looked fantastic over the last three months and has made a believer out of me. Don't get me wrong this is a tough fight, but Green looks more polished than ever and is solid in all aspects of the game. Assuming Green gets past Moises, I hope the UFC finally gives him a crack at the top-15, there's a ton of interesting matchups for him there.

Prediction: Bobby Green, Decision
