UFC Vegas 25: Prochazka vs Reyes Predictions

After all the chaos that was last weekend, it's going to be tough to come back down off of that high. As much as some were against it, it's hard to argue against not only the energy the crowd brought but also the normalcy the event itself brought as well. I hope everyone who needed to take precautions did, but in the end, adults are adults, and the decision is theirs to make. But goddamn what a card that was!

Back to the main point of this article, the main event we have on our hands...is quite the doozy in its own right. So expect more fireworks. PREDICTIONS!

Jiri Prochazka vs Dominick Reyes

At first glance, this fight seems like an easy pick. Jiri is coming in red hot, and Reyes, well, Reyes is coming off of a tough knockout loss to the champ. However, I'm not one to sit here and scold a guy for losing to literally the best fighters at 205. Is Reyes as dangerous as advertised? No. But I believe his style could be effective against a wildman like Jiri (yeah, I'm not typing his last name out).

Jiri is strong like a bull. However, he is there to get hit, and against Reyes, that might not be such a great idea. The question is though if he connects, will Reyes still be there? No one else has lived to tell the tale, but I like Reyes' southpaw skills and athleticism to throw Jiri off of his game a little bit. And I think if Jiri comes in the wrong way (which he will), that chin will be thee for Reyes to crack.

Prediction: Dominick Reyes, 2ND RD TKO

Giga Chikadze vs Cub Swanson

As much as some would like to write off Cub, I don't think this is the fight to do it. Giga is fun to watch. In his last fight, he showed a little more flair and performed well. However, when I look at his resume, I don't see anything that makes me overly worried for Cub. Swanson has undervalued grappling, and I think that will be his path to victory here. Chikadze could take that next step, but I just don't think Cub will be the guy he does it with, not yet.

Prediction: Cub Swanson, Decision

Ion Cutelaba vs Dustin Jacoby

Can we say it? Cutelaba is a psychopath! No, seriously, the dude has a screw loose. You can't just go from shaking one person's hand with a friendly smiling to snatching another man's neck in the following sequence of life, crazy shit. Anyways, Ion won't land, and Jacoby will probably take advantage of Cutelaba's lack of awareness for people's thoughts and feelings.

It would not surprise me if Cutelaba was the Moldovan Jack Ripper.

Prediction ; Dustin Jacoby, 2ND RD TKO

Krzysztoff Jotko vs Sean Strickland

My overall feeling toward this fight is '"meh", followed by a shoulder shrug. Both dudes are coming in as winners of three in a row, but it feels like Strickland has been more impressive against more consistent guys. I've been burned from going against Jotko once before, but I feel pretty safe riding with Strickland here.

Prediction: Sean Strickland, Decision

Merab Dvalishvili vs Cody Stamann

Now, this right here is a fight! Stammen is one hell of a fighter, and Merab is the Tasmanian devil personified. This tilt could easily be the co-main! I think it's going to be a little more complicated of a fight than Merab's used to, but there's something about this guy that screams title contender. If Stamann can stay off his back foot, he has a shot, but I don't that's going to happen.

Prediction: Merab Dvalishvili, Decision
